Dr. Marin Gillis is the Senior Executive Dean for Faculty Affairs and Learning Innovation at Roseman College of Medicine where she came with the original leadership team in 2020. She leads the Office of Faculty Affairs & Learning Innovation (OFALI) with a transdisciplinary team who advance faculty as scholarly educators through internal and external development and educational leadership opportunities; enhance faculty as researchers; and empower faculty through significant support for shared governance. OFALI intentionally designs faculty development programming that incorporates justice, the science of learning, and promising national trends in all venues of learning, including the classroom, the clinic, and the community. Special emphasis is on developing community clinicians as medical academicians and advancing opportunities for underrepresented faculty to flourish and succeed. Dr. Gillis is a philosopher, bioethicist, and medical academician who is a collaborative and integrative researcher, investigating best practices in broad transdisciplinary health professions education. She is an internationally recognized educational leader and mentor, serving as Director of the USA Working Group of the international Cambridge Consortium for Bioethics Education. Dr. Gillis has held executive positions on the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities Board of Directors and the American Association of Medical Colleges Group on Women in Medicine and Science Steering Committee. She a Harvard Macy scholar and a former assistant dean for women in medicine and science. Dr. Gillis has held faculty positions at Florida International University College of Medicine (Miami), the University of Nevada School of Medicine (Reno), and the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University (Boston). Since 2020 Dr. Gillis serves as a Visiting Faculty member at the American University of Antigua College of Medicine.
